Learning to skydive is one of the most exciting things that you can experience in your life AND you do not have to do a tandem for your first skydive.
The way to become a qualified skydiver is to complete the Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) training stages. With the internationally recognised “A Licence” you can jump in most places in Australia.

Stage 1 Solo - $560
Your first AFF jump begins with 6 to 8 hours of training which we conduct mid week at our Townsville office in Denham St. On the weekend we complete the training at Ayr Airport where you jump with two qualified instructors - one on each side. You will be required to perform a series of practice handle pulls and altitude checks then you deploy and fly your own parachute under instructor direction. Midweek jumping can also be arranged.
Once you have completed Stage 1 the rest of your AFF jumps require a briefing of 20 to 30 minutes. You can do more than one jump that day - YAHOO! Between your jumps you will also learn parachute packing.
Stage 2 - $360
You learn to move forward by pulling your arms back and ‘Delta’ across the sky.
On all skydives you will be working on your height awareness, body position and canopy control.
Stage 3 - $360
On this skydive your instructors will start to let you go and one will fly in front of you. You will learn how to keep a heading and keep yourself stable in free fall with your instructors moving around you. You also start to fly your parachute in a circuit pattern for landing.
Stage 4 - $260
This is a consolidation jump and you may do this jump with only one instructor. Your instructor will release you and fly in front of you. Your job is to maintain heading, height awareness and to deploy by 3500 feet.
Stage 5 - $260
All of your AFF jumps now are with one instructor. In this stage you will learn 360 degree turns, forward movement and re-linking up with your instructor. You also start to land the parachute by yourself.
Stage 6 - $260
This jump is an unlinked exit – you jump out and the instructor follows. It is similar to stage 5 and is a consolidation dive to improve on previous jumps.
After Stage 6 you have reached the skill level of being able to jump without an instructor. What an awesome feeling!
Stage 7 - $260
Back loops and tracking - YEAH. You will do an unlinked dive exit and learn how to do back loops. Tracking is moving across the sky. This is achieved by pointing your arms and legs and bending at the waist.
Stage 8 - $260
In this consolidation jump you will demonstrate slow and fast fall rates by changing your body position. You will also practise skills such as turning and back loops and S tracking.
Stage 9 - $80
This is the final stage in the AFF table. This jump is from 4000 feet where you have to get stable, deploy your parachute and experience a sub-terminal opening.
